Reunited With My Simple Life

After almost 10 years I am so enjoying being reunited with my simple life. It was a life I used to enjoy so much, through choice. As a survivor of CSA and later in life I survived a narcissist. I had always found peace, solace and happiness in the simple things in life. Nature, wildlife, wide open spaces, the freedom of the great outdoors. Then I got distracted by a narcissist but the least said about that the better because he is HISTORY. Nature healed me back then and it’s healed me now too. Ok I have MS and other disabilities but I can still drive and I am so blessed to live in a beautiful part of the world, surrounded by nature and wildlife. I’ve been making lots of nature videos for my little YouTube channel but along the way I have discovered a love of photography too. Today we have set up a new blog to share our photographs.

https://ssphotographywales.wordpress.com If you like nature too we would be so grateful for any likes and follows.

I’m still mourning the death of my beautiful Mum but she would be so happy of the route I have chosen to go down. It was my parents love of nature that I grew up with that I am so thankful for. Mother Nature is truly beautiful and I love her. No matter how hard things can be you should never give up fighting for you. Battle on and never look back. You are important and at the end of the day only you are responsible for your own happiness, no one else is. We are all walking along the road of life and the second hand on the clock keeps ticking down. Tick, tick, tick. I don’t intend wasting one single second of this beautiful life on the wrong thing ever again. I’m too old, too strong and I have fought too hard for too long and I am way too wise to follow a road sign that points to HELL ever again.

I try and ESCAPE the prison of civilisation whenever I can and spend time alone with God & Mother Nature. It’s beautiful. If re fuels me and feeds me to go another day in The Matrix. I really believe The Hunger Games are not far from the actual reality of what is going to occur. Su x

Peace And Solitude To Heal

imageI am trying my very best to move on, quietly and with dignity, I just want to look to the future not the past but the past keeps appearing. This makes it really difficult to be able to blog. I read your last few pieces and no way is your attempted guilt trip going to work anymore. When things were really really hard for me you never came. You just never came. I got through everything myself since my heart attack. I am not coming back this time sorry. I am doing well and moving forward a day at a time. Please be respectful and move on. I don’t want to delete this blog, it’s a year old now and I’ve made some good friends. Coming here and doing little blog posts is therapy for me and it has helped me come from the depths of despair to crawl out of the blackest darkest hole I’ve ever been in. It took me 2 months to wean myself off Sertraline but I did it. I’ve given up smoking and drinking and I’m taking care of myself, both my mental & physical health.

Wasted

The art is by myself, the words are from a young Scottish singer/songwriter called David Sneddon. I wanted to include the song in this post but wordpress and all it’s issues lately won’t let me upload youtube videos at the moment. A very talented young guy who only ever wanted to play the piano and sing his songs. When he was given the opportunity to do just that, he realised he didn’t want the fame and fortune that went with it. So he gave up his dream and retreated back into his shell.

This picture I’ve called Wasted, it reminds me of LOVE. Sometimes, it’s just wasted. Sometimes we retreat back into our shells. We shut doors on new opportunities because we struggle to leave the past behind and move on. Wasted. Simply wasted. The door represents age, years passed by…….and the waste of those years. (This post is NOT referring to the old narcissist) Su x

Prescription Painkiller Deaths Fall In Medical Marijuana States (MM Is Finally Legal In Wales)

I don’t take drugs, I never have but after much research about the amazing affects of medical marijuana on PWMS (people with MS)I am going to book an appointment to have a chat with my doctor. I know that if you have had a heart attack as I have, you are at an increased risk of a further heart attack if you smoke weed, whether or not it is the same with MM I don’t know. BUT it’s finally here in the UK and only available in my Country of Wales so I’ll keep you informed on any progress.

Below is a very interesting article.

Prescription painkiller deaths fall in medical marijuana states

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) – Researchers aren’t sure why, but in the 23 U.S. states where medical marijuana has been legalized, deaths from opioid overdoses have decreased by almost 25 percent, according to a new analysis.

“Most of the discussion on medical marijuana has been about its effect on individuals in terms of reducing pain or other symptoms,” said lead author Dr. Marcus Bachhuber in an email to Reuters Health. “The unique contribution of our study is the finding that medical marijuana laws and policies may have a broader impact on public health.”

California, Oregon and Washington first legalized medical marijuana before 1999, with 10 more following suit between then and 2010, the time period of the analysis. Another 10 states and Washington, D.C. adopted similar laws since 2010.

For the study, Bachhuber, of the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the University of Pennsylvania, and his colleagues used state-level death certificate data for all 50 states between 1999 and 2010.

In states with a medical marijuana law, overdose deaths from opioids like morphine, oxycodone and heroin decreased by an average of 20 percent after one year, 25 percent by two years and up to 33 percent by years five and six compared to what would have been expected, according to results in JAMA Internal Medicine.

Meanwhile, opioid overdose deaths across the country increased dramatically, from 4,030 in 1999 to 16,651 in 2010, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Three of every four of those deaths involved prescription pain medications.

Of those who die from prescription opioid overdoses, 60 percent have a legitimate prescription from a single doctor, the CDC also reports.

Medical marijuana, where legal, is most often approved for treating pain conditions, making it an option in addition to or instead of prescription painkillers, Bachhuber and his coauthors wrote.

In Colorado, where recreational growth, possession and consumption of pot has been legal since 2012 and a buzzing industry for the first half of 2014, use among teens seems not to have increased.

Medical marijuana laws seem to be linked with higher rates of marijuana use among adults, Bachhuber said, but results are mixed for teens.

But the full scope of risks, and benefits, of medical marijuana is still unknown, he said.

“I think medical providers struggle in figuring out what conditions medical marijuana could be used for, who would benefit from it, how effective it is and who might have side effects; some doctors would even say there is no scientifically proven, valid, medical use of marijuana,” Bachhuber said. “More studies about the risks and benefits of medical marijuana are needed to help guide us in clinical practice.”

Marie J. Hayes of the University of Maine in Orno co-wrote an accompanying commentary in the journal.

“Generally healthcare providers feel very strongly that medical marijuana may not be the way to go,” she told Reuters Health. “There is the risk of smoke, the worry about whether that is carcinogenic but people so far haven’t been able to prove that.”

There may be a risk that legal medical marijuana will make the drug more accessible for kids and smoking may impair driving or carry other risks, she said.

“But we’re already developing Oxycontin and Vicodin and teens are getting their hands on it,” she said.

If legalizing medical marijuana does help tackle the problem of painkiller deaths, that will be very significant, she said.

“Because opioid mortality is such a tremendously significant health crisis now, we have to do something and figure out what’s going on,” Hayes said.

The efforts states currently make to combat these deaths, like prescription monitoring programs, have been relatively ineffectual, she said.

“Everything we’re doing is having no effect, except for in the states that have implemented medical marijuana laws,” Hayes said.

People who overdose on opioids likely became addicted to it and are also battling other psychological problems, she said. Marijuana, which is not itself without risks, is arguably less addictive and almost impossible to overdose on compared to opioids, Hayes said.

Adults consuming marijuana don’t show up in the emergency room with an overdose, she said. “But,” she added, “we don’t put it in Rite Aid because we’re confused by it as a society.”

Jesus DID NOT Die On The Cross To Save Saints~ He Died To Save Us

You are lost in a dark forest at night, full of wild animals, and you do not know how to get out. You see a light ahead, and it appears to be a parked car with a man outside. You choose not to go near the man. Would you be right to blame the man anyway for not giving you directions?

When you move toward the light, doesn’t the light get brighter? In a similar way, if someone is searching for the truth about God but doesn’t know about Jesus, God desires to give them more light when they respond to the light that they have received. Ultimately God will do whatever it takes to try to reach us because He loves us so dearly and desires a relationship with us, as 2 Peter 3:9 shows.

While the previous illustration is OK, for some there is a more appropriate illustration.

A person is lost in a dark forest at night, full of wild animals. He sees a light ahead, which is a parked car with a man outside. He sneaks up on the man, kills him, burns the map, and then says he is doing the best he can because he knows no other way. He is telling the truth, since he burned the map. Today, about 2 billion people, and perhaps the majority of non-Christians, live in countries and cultures that have killed countless Christian witnesses. If someone approves of killing of Christians, how many more missionaries do you think God is obligated to send them?
But the good news for them is that God still keeps sending some missionaries, because He loves those lost people, even enough to sacrifice the lives of some of His missionaries.

We are all sinners because we are all human~Su

When Jesus said “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28 He was talking to you, today, in this chaotic world of greed and hate. He knows you already, He knows you better than you know yourself and He loves you, He’s never stopped loving you. The harsh lessons and losses were to mould you into the person He wants you to be. Trust in Him ~Su x

Wishing everyone a lovely day. Blessed be x
